Lead Designer

A native of Edenton, North Carolina, Carole grew up surrounded by beauty. The elegant historic architecture of her hometown influenced her love of antiques, art, exquisite fabrics as well as the importance of family and traditions. This idyllic upbringing also shaped her idea of what it means to lead a well-lived life and how she could help others achieve that dream. Carole believes, “At its essence a home should be functional, beautiful and comfortable,” which is how she approaches working with clients.

Carole received a BS in Interior Design in 1992 from Meredith College and immediately began honing her design skills as a store and showroom designer for a major residential furniture manufacturer. Her extensive travel throughout the United States gave her the opportunity to design casual, contemporary, and traditional spaces.

KRISTEN BAKER

Operations Manager

A proud native of Greenville, NC, Kristen has established a unique presence in the design industry since 2018. With a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from East Carolina University, she leverages her academic and professional experience to excel in her role.

As our Operations Manager, Kristen handles every project from start to finish, including client communication, contracts, proposals, billing, ordering, tracking, and scheduling. Her meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills ensure smooth project execution and efficient office operations. Kristen’s expertise in managing daily logistical challenges behind the scenes makes her an invaluable member of the CHI team.
